Birchbox From US With Love

Ce mois-ci marquait les cinq ans de la Birchbox, et pour fêter ça nous avons eu droit à une édition spéciale Birchbox From US With Love : un petit jeu de mot pour marquer les origines américaines de la marque, et pour dire que la box a été pensée spécialement pour nous, de la part des équipes Birchbox. Les cinq produits que j’ai reçus étaient donc tous venus des USA, et m’ont fait voyager un peu :)

Le design de la box est bien différent de d’habitude : il s’agit d’un tiroir ! Bleu et rouge, avec un joli motif de chevrons à étoiles. Son fond est recouvert de mousse, pour mieux protéger les produits qui forcément bougent un peu plus que quand ils sont « coincés » dans le petit sac en tissu.

J’ai donc reçu dans ma Birchbox From US With Love :
*Laura Mercier, Foundation Primer: Je connais plusieurs produits de teint de la marque, et je les aime beaucoup. Du coup, je n’ai pas de raison de douter du fait que cette base va être très chouette !
*Medicine Mama’s Apothecary, Sweet Bee Magic: C’est un soin multifonctions très agréable à utiliser (mais attention si vous ne supportez pas l’odeur d’huile d’olive, ce baume n’est pas pour vous!). Entièrement naturel, je l’ai déjà utilisé en soin de nuit et sur les lèvres et j’en suis contente :)
*Parlor by Jeff Chastain, Sea Salt Spray: Je n’utilise pas vraiment de spray de ce type, parce que mes cheveux sont naturellement ondulés et qu’ils tiennent plutôt bien tous seuls, mais pourquoi pas ? Pas trop souvent, puisque ça assèche souvent pas mal, mais de temps en temps…
*Supergoop!, City Sunscreen Serum SPF30: J’avoue que je n’ai pas du tout le réflexe d’utiliser un écran solaire pendant la journée, en ville… Donc je vais intégrer ce petit tube à ma routine, et on verra si l’habitude prend!
*Whish, Three Wishes Body Wash Pomegranate: J’avais bien aimé les laits corporels de la marque reçus notamment dans la Birchbox Splash!, donc il n’y avait pas de raison que ce gel douche ne me plaise pas. D’autant qu’il sent délicieusement bon, et à l’usage il me fait la peau très douce ^^

This month marked Birchbox’s 5th anniversary, and to celebrate it we got a special edition Birchbox From US With Love : A pun to underline the American roots of the brand, and to tell that the box was imagined especially for us by the Birchbox team. The 5 products I received all came from the US, and took me on a mind-travel :)

The design of the box is much different from usual: It’s a drawer! Blue and red, with a pretty pattern of starred herringbone. The bottom is covered in foam, so as to better protect the products that moved around the box more than when stuck in the small fabric bag.

*Laura Mercier, Foundation Primer: I know several face products from the brand, and I love them. So I have no reason to doubt the fact that this primer will be very good!
*Medicine Mama’s Apothecary, Sweet Bee Magic: This is a pleasant to use multifunction skincare product (but beware if you don’t like the smell of olive oil, that’s the main ingredient and it’s not subtle). Entirely natural, I’ve already used it as a night balm and on my lips and it felt good :)
*Parlor by Jeff Chastain, Sea Salt Spray: I don’t really use that kind of spray, because my hair is naturally quite wavy and they hold rather well, but why not? Not too often, since it’s still rather drying in the long run, butonce in a while…
*Supergoop!, City Sunscreen Serum SPF30: I have to admit I’m not really used to putting on sunscreen on a regular basis… So I’ll add this little tube to my routine, and we’ll see if the habit sticks!
*Whish, Three Wishes Body Wash Pomegranate: I liked the brand’s botion lotions which I got in previous Birchbox editions, so I couldn’t see why I wouldn’t like it. It actually smells amazing, and it turns out it makes my skin really soft ^^

Only products I didn’t know, though the brands themselves were not all unkown to me. So in a whole that’s a Birchbox From US With Love!

La Thé Box Splash !

J’avais encore une box à vous montrer cette semaine, une jolie box qui sent bon les vacances et le farniente dans le jardin. Il s’agit de La Thé Box Splash ! Encore une box que j’adore recevoir, pleine de surprises et de gourmandises ^^
Cette fois-ci, c’est une box un peu rétro couverte de baigneuses que j’ai trouvée dans ma boîte aux lettres. Elle est issue d’une collaboration avec la marque de jolie papeterie Season Paper pour célébrer « l’âge d’or du tea time posh au bord de la piscine » (je vous cite La Thé Box, hein, une telle description ne me serait jamais passée par la tête // j’aurais pas pu bosser dans la pub, je crois).

Les petites cartes sont une fois de plus adorables (les ananas sont-ils toujours à la mode?), le Cahier des Saveurs très intéressant, mais ce qui a fait chavirer mon coeur cette fois est le fruit de la collaboration avec Season Paper: le bloc-notes! J’ai déjà commencé à le noircir avec mes petites wishlist du moment ^^

Et pour ce qui est du contenu en lui-même, que du bonheur :) J’ai craqué pour « Dino les Biscotto » et « Irène la Sirène »! J’ai aussi particulièrement aimé l’infusion bio « Refresh Me » de English Tea Shop avec ses arômes de menthe poivrée et de citronnelle (dit comme ça on dirait une pub pour de l’antimoustiques, mais je vous assure que non), et l’infusion « Provence » de Dammann Frères à l’hibiscus et à la rose, qui est délicieuse aussi glacée (mais je préfère quand même mon thé chaud en toute saison). Et les sucettes rétro ♥♥♥

Et voilà donc de quoi me désaltérer tout le reste de l’été! J’avoue que j’ai déjà hâte de recevoir la prochaine, il va me falloir des munitions pour la reprise du boulot (bien que la bouilloire la plus proche de mon nouveau bureau soit deux étages plus bas >_<).

I had another box to show you this week, a pretty box that smells of vacation and farniente in the garden. It’s La Thé Box Splash ! Another box that I love to receive, full of surprises and yummy stuff ^^
This time I found in my mailbox a retro-styled box covered in swimming ladies. It’s the result of a collaboration with the dainty stationery brand Season Paper to celebrate « the golden age of posh tea time by the pool » (I’m only quoting La Thé Box here, I could never have come up with that // I guess I wasn’t made for a marketing job).

The cards are über cute (are pineapples still a thing?), the tasting notebook very informative as always, but what really won my heart this time is the perfect little notepad designed by Season Paper! I already started scribbling wishlists on it ^^

And concerning the contents themselves, well they are just right :) I loved « Dino les Biscotto » and « Irène la Sirène », how cute are they? I also loved the organic herbal tea « Refresh Me » by English Tea Shop, that tastes of peppermint and lemongrass (it does sound a little like an ad for antimosquito stuff, but I assure you it’s not like that), and Provence by Dammann Frères with hibiscus and rose, that tastes just as good when iced (though I still prefer my tea hot, all year round). And the retro lollipops ♥♥♥

So here I am, ready to drink away the rest of summer! I have to admit I’m already looking forward to the next box, I’ll need ammo when going back to work (even though the closest kettle to my new office is two floors down >_<).

Ce billet fait partie des bousculés de l’emploi du temps, ceux que j’ai entamé puis pas terminés, mais que j’ai quand même envie de publier alors je me suis mis un bon coup de pied et je m’y suis replongée.
On va donc parler aujourd’hui de la Birchbox du mois d’août, la Birchbox Back To Cool! Ça fait quelques années déjà que j’ai quitté les bancs de l’école, donc je suis contente que ce ne soit pas « back to school » ;)

En plus d’avoir subi les aléas de mon agenda, cette box qui aurait du arriver très tôt a un peu traîné en route, mais ça s’est bien arrangé. J’en suis contente, d’autant que j’avais choisi de recevoir une version en particulier et que j’avais très hâte de la trouver dans ma boîte aux lettres! On pouvait choisir entre trois thèmes qui comprenaient chacun deux produits qu’on serait assuré de trouver dans la boîte: Le Cap-Ferret, Saint Tropez et Belle-Île; j’avais choisi cette dernière possibilité pour le shampooing Herbalosophy et le gel sorbet Sabon (j’aime beaucoup cette marque mais on n’en parle pas trop, vous la connaissez?).

Pour une fois, nous avons reçu un vrai livret avec la box, avec des infos, des astuces et de jeux pour l’été (soyez indulgents, je fais rarement ce type de collages dans Photoshop ^^ // c’est important d’avoir une marge de progression, non?). C’est une bonne idée, je trouve. Je n’en voudrais pas tous les mois, mais une fois de temps en temps ça apporte un peu de changement.

J’ai reçu tout un tas de produits chouettes dans ma Birchbox Back To Cool:

*Herbalosophy, Balance Shampoo: Pour une fois que j’avais envie de recevoir un shampooing ^^ Celui-ci est sans sulfate pour ne pas agresser le cuir chevelu, et sans silicones (mais il contient d’autres agents occlusifs). Je l’ai glissé dans mon sac de sport pour la prochaine fois, il s’annonce plutôt pas mal!
*Delarom, Crème Acquaconfort: J’avais apprécié le masque Aquaconfort, alors j’ai trouvé sympa de recevoir la crème de jour. Je l’ai d’ailleurs emportée avec moi en week-end à Londres et je n’ai pas regretté! Elle est très agréable à utiliser (matin et soir, pour prendre moins de produits), pas grasse et bien hydratante. La composition n’est pas parfaite, mais plutôt correcte quand même.
*Sabon, Sorbet: Comme je le disais plus haut, j’aime bien cette marque qui est encore peu connue. Leur huile de douche est particulièrement agréable, et ce gel-sorbet promet une texture légère avec beaucoup d’hydratation. J’ai hâte de le tester, même si le format pot (le même que celui vendu dans leurs boutiques, juste en plus petit) n’est pas forcément le plus pratique.
*Unani, Body Treatment Anticellulite Lotion: J’avoue que depuis quelques mois, grâce à tout le sport que je fais ma cellulite a presque disparu d’elle-même (rassurez-vous, j’ai beaucoup d’autres sources d’insatisfaction concernant mon corps), donc cette crème a un intérêt limité pour moi. D’autant qu’avec ce format, ça m’étonnerait qu’on puisse se faire une idée juste de son efficacité, mais pourquoi pas? Si je ne l’utilise pas pour me tartiner les jambes (pour l’hydratation seulement, du coup), j’en ferai don.
*The Balm, Balm Desert: Ah, les packagings rétro de The Balm ♥ (en passant, la marque sera disponible chez Monoprix à partir de septembre) La taille de l’échantillon n’est pas idéale pour tester le bronzer, mais c’est malgré tout un produit plutôt cool que je glisserai dans ma trousse de maquillage de voyage, pour quand j’ai besoin de toute la place que je peux économiser ^^ J’ai pris l’habitude dernièrement de mettre un petit voile de bronzer pour accentuer un peu mon bronzage (léger, je vous l’accorde) avant de sortir, ça tombe bien!

En résumé, la Birchbox Back To Cool fait bien le job. C’est pour une fois une box pour laquelle je n’ai aucun regret, pas de déception par rapport à certains produits… Et c’est plutôt chouette!

This post is part of the ones that got pushed aside by the unexpected changes in my agenda, the ones I started and didn’t finish, but that I still wanted to publish. So I gave myself a good kick in the butt and went back to it.
So today we’ll talk about the latest Birchbox edition, the Birchbox Back To Cool. Since it’s been quite a few years since I last went to school, I was glad it was no « back to school » edition. And « back to work » would suck just as much, since I hadn’t been on vacation yet when I got it. Anyway.

So in addition to being out of my agenda, this box took some detours before getting to me, but it all went well in the end. I’m glad about it, especially since I’d chosen a particular version and I was looking forward to receiving it! You could chose between three options that would all have two specific products in them: Le Cap-Ferret, Saint-Tropez and Belle-Île (all of them also being popular holiday destinations in France). I’d gone for Belle-Île because of the Herbalosophy shampoo and the Sabon sorbet (I love this brand but it’s not that famous here, do you know it?).

So for once we got a real leaflet with the box, with info, tips, and small games (be kind, I’m not used to doing this kind of collages on Photoshop ^^ // but it’s important to have room for improvement, right?). I think it’s a good idea, and even if I wouldn’t want it every month it’s still a nice change.

I got a whole bunch of nice products in my Birchbox Back To Cool:
*Herbalosophy, Balance Shampoo: It’s seldom that I actually want to receive shampoo! This one is sulfate-free to be gentle on the hair and scalp, and silicone-free (though it does have other not-so-good ingredients of the same type). I put it in my sports bag for next time, but so far it seems quite good!
*Delarom, Acquacomfort Cream: I liked the Aquacomfort mask, so I was happy to find the day cream. I took it with me on my weekend away in Londo and I didn’t regret it! It’s very pleasant to use (day and night, to limit the products), not greasy and very moisturizing. The ingredients list is not perfect, but still ok.
*Sabon, Sorbet: As I said, I like this brand that’s still a little unknown. Their shower oil is really good, and this sorbet-gel has a promising very light though moisturizing texture. I’m looking forward to trying it out, though the pot (same as the one sold in their shops, though smaller) is not the most convenient to use.
*Unani, Body Treatment Anticellulite Lotion: I have to admit that my cellulite has been MIA for a couple of months thanks to training and better eating (don’t worry, I still have many sources of unsatisfaction about my body), so this cream is not really for me. And also I’m not sure you can really have a good idea of its efficiency with such a sample size, but who am I to judge? If I don’t lather it on my legs for moisture, I’ll probably give it away.
*The Balm, Balm Desert: Oh how I love the retro packagings from The Balm ♥ The sample size is not the easiest to work with, but it’s nonetheless a fun product I’ll put in my makeup travel bag where I need all the space I can spare ^^ Lately I’ve taken to dusting a tiny bit of bronzer on my face before going out to emphasize my tan (which is light, I’ll give you this), so that’s perfect!

So in a whole, the Birchbox Back To Cool does the job quite well. I’ve had no regret or disappointment so far concerning the products… And that’s nice!

Birchbox Sunset Lovers – Comme un besoin de vacances…

Décidément, le jour férié de la semaine dernière a chamboulé tout mon programme… Et ce billet est maintenant publié avec une petite semaine de retard! Mais je suis sûre que vous ne m'en voudrez pas ;)
Je me demande parfois comment Birchbox fait pour toujours taper dans le mille, et ils ont encore remis ça cette fois-ci. Rien que la boîte m'a fait craquer (je suis une proie facile, visiblement), avec son dégradé de l'orangé au bleu qui rappelle les couchers de soleil. En même temps, rien d'étonnant à ça avec un titre pareil: Amoureux du coucher de soleil (toute cette poésie, ce romantisme…). Moi j'aime autant les levers que les couchers, qui permettent de tout oublier l'espace d'un instant même s'ils ne portent pas les mêmes promesses.

Et voilà, moi aussi je délire. Cela dit, le design de la boîte compte presque autant que son contenu certains mois ;)

J'ai donc reçu dans ma Birchbox Sunset Lovers:

*Indemne, Eau de Génie: Ce petit spray contient une eau 100% naturelle et bio supposée parfaire le nettoyage et le démaquillage. Elle me rappelle un peu l'Eau de Beauté de Caudalie, et si je ne peux pas juger de ses effets elle est très rafraîchissante sur ma peau.
*Institut Arnaud, Baume relipidant expert corps: Je n'ai pas encore testé ce baume, mais ce que j'en lis me semble un peu "riche" pour être utilisé en été. Je vais le mettre de côté pour combattre ma peau de croco cet hiver ;)
*Marvis, Dentifrice menthe blanchissante: J'aime bien les dentifrices Marvis; j'avais reçu la version au réglisse dans une autre box et je vais glisser ce petit tube dans ma trousse de toilette, le format est parfait pour les voyages!
*Davines, Minu Shampoo & Conditioner: Je ne crois pas avoir jamais testé de produits Davines, alors c'est l'occasion! Je ne suis pas convaincue par l'aspect pratique de la dose de shampooing, mais le pot d'après-shampooing me plaît :) En plus, la composition a l'air correcte, de prime abord.
*Pop Beauty, Palette Bright Up Your Life: Cette marque britannique est encore inconnue au bataillon pour moi, mais la palette que j'ai reçue a l'air plutôt sympa que ce soit au niveau de la pigmentation ou de la tenue. Je vous en dirai sûrement plus très vite ;)

Last week's holiday seriously messed up my planning (didn't need it in the first place, I've been quite sloppy lately), and this post is being published a week later than it should have been. But I'm sure you won't hold it against me ;)
I sometimes wonder how Birchbox actually manages to hit the right spot nearly every time. They did it again this time! Already the design of the box made me fall for it (I'm such a sucker for this) with its orange to blue gradient reminiscent of sunsets. Well that was an obvious one, what with it being "Birchbox Sunset Lovers". So much romanticism… I love sunset as much as I love sunrise, both being moments suspended it time that make us (or maybe just me?) forget everything, even if they don't carry the same promises.

So now I'm delirious, too. That being said, the design of the box often accounts for a big part of its success ;)

In the Birchbox Sunset Lovers, I found:
*Indemne, Eau de Génie: This spray reminds me of Caudalie's Beauty Elixir, in a 100% natural and organic version. I can't judge its benefits yet, but it's at least very refreshing.
*Institut Arnaud, Body Expert Replenishing Balm: I didn't try out this balm, but I'm afraid it might be a little too heavy for the season. I'll keep it for my dry skin in the colder months ;)
*Marvis, Whitening Mint toothpaste: I like Marvis toothpastes; I got the liquorice version in a previous box and I'll put this one in my toiletry bag for next trip, the size is perfect for that!
*Davines, Minu Shampoo & Conditioner: I don't think I've ever tried out Davines products, so this will be a first! I'm not convinced by the practical side of the shampoo does, but I like the conditioner pot :) And the ingredients list seems quite clean, at first sight.
*Pop Beauty, Palette Bright Up Your Life: This British brand is still unknown to me, but the palette I received seems rather nice be it on the intensity or the hold. I will most likely tell you more very soon ;)

So there you go, I love my Birchbox. I'll use next weekend to try out some of it (especially the palette, I like to travel light // we're going to Italy ^^), and I'll come back to you!

Ce mois-ci je ne suis pas en retard pour vous présenter mes chouchous ^^ Il y a des choses très différentes, ce mois-ci. Sans plus attendre, voici… mes favoris de juin!

*La tisane glacée In/Fusion**: Quand il fait chaud, quoi de meilleur qu'une bonne boisson tout juste sortie du réfrigérateur pour se rafraichir? J'adore les thés et infusions glacés, mais ça demande un minimum de préparation et j'ai parfois un peu la flemme ^^ Du coup, les tisanes glacées In/Fusion sont parfaites pour ça! Elles sont bio, sans sucre ajouté ni ingrédients artificiels, donc c'est plus sain qu'un jus de fruit ou autre boisson ultra-sucrée mais rafraichissante. La version grenade-cassis-menthe poivrée est vraiment délicieuse! (disponible entre autres chez Monoprix et Naturalia)

*Mes sandales trouvées sur Etsy: Je soutiens l'économie grecque ^^ Je plaisante, mais j'adore ces sandales achetées l'an dernier sur Etsy. Elles sont confortables et jolies, le cuir est de bonne qualité, et elles ont résisté à des kilomètres de trottoir parisien! J'ai profité de la chaleur montante pour les sortir du placard, et elles vont à nouveau me suivre tout l'été. La boutique a malheureusement l'air fermée, mais il y en a plein d'autres sur le site (il suffit de chercher "leather sandals").

*L'huile à l'arnica Weleda: Un incontournable pour les sportifs! J'adore me masser avec quand j'ai eu un entraînement un peu plus rude et que je sens venir les courbatures, histoire de limiter la casse. Elle est assez rapidement absorbée, et est idéale à appliquer après la douche sur les muscles concernés. Son odeur n'est pas des plus fleuries, sans être repoussante, et le goulot du flacon ne permet pas de très bien doser, mais franchement les avantages balancent largement les inconvénients!

*La crème de jour 20 ans de Fun'Ethic: Ça fait un moment qu'elle traîne dans ma salle de bains, mais j'ai enfin commencé à l'utiliser et je ne regrette pas. Elle n'est pas grasse, rapidement absorbée, avec un léger parfum de fleur d'oranger que j'aime beaucoup, et elle hydrate bien ma peau. Je pense qu'elle ne serait pas assez riche pour l'hiver, mais en été c'est parfait. Et oui, elle fait partie de la gamme 20 ans mais j'y suis encore, j'en profite!

*L'Eau Dynamisante Clarins: Celle-ci est un cadeau, et j'ai eu du mal à me faire à son odeur (que je suis bien incapable de décrire, je n'y connais rien), mais récemment je me suis dit que j'allais retenter. Le parfum est finalement plutôt rafraîchissant et en effet "dynamisant", même si je ne sais pas si les huiles essentielles et les extraits de plantes sont vraiment actifs, et puis elle est non photosensibilisante, ce qui n'est pas mal avec le début de l'été ^^

This time I'm not late to introduce you to my favourites! There are rather various things this month, as you'll see. Without further ado… my June favourites!

*In/Fusion iced herbal tea**: What's better to cool down than a nice cold drink directly from the fridge? I love all kinds of iced teas, but it takes some preparation and I'm sometimes too lazy ^^ The iced herbal teas from In/Fusion are perfect for that! They're organic, with no added sugar or artificial ingredients, so they're healthier than fruit juice or other regular fresh but overly sweet drinks. The pomegranate-blackcurrant-peppermint is delicious! They're available in Whole Foods Markets and BWR in the US.

*My sandals that I found on Etsy: I support the Greek economy ^^ I'm joking, but I love these sandals I bought last year on Etsy. They are pretty and comfortable, made from good quality leather, and they've resisted kilometers of Parisian pavement! I took advantage of the coming summer temperatures to get them out of the cupboard, and they'll follow me all summer long again. It seems like the shop is unfortunately closed, but there are many more models on the website (just look up "leather sandals").

*The Weleda Arnica oil: You have to know this one if you're into sports! I love a good massage with it when my workout has been hard and I feel sore muscles coming. It soaks in quite fast, and perfect to apply on the painful muscles after a shower. Its smell is not exactly flowerish, but it's far from stinking, and the neck of the bottle isn't the most convenient but the pros outweigh to cons by far!

*The Fun'Ethic 20 years old face cream: I've had this one for quite some time in a drawer, but I've finally started using it and I'm very happy about it. It's not greasy, easily absorbed by the skin, with a soft orange blossom scent that I really like, and it's perfectly moisturizing on my skin. I don't think it would be too rich for winter, but it's exactly what I need in summer. And yes, it's part of the "20s" range but I still belong there ^^

*Clarins Eau Dynamisante: The bottle was a present, and to be honest I've had some trouble adapting to the smell of it (I couldn't describe it for the life of me, I suck at perfumes), but recently I thought I'd give it another try.
